Being able to communicate clearly, logically and convincingly is a key skill for our children to have. Learning the art of debating equips children with the skills not only for effective communication at school, but also in their future working world.
Through a variety of creative role plays, such as having to convince others of a lie, selling the impossible sandwich or campaigning to be President of the universe, children are challenged to work creatively and logically to convince their audience. In playing out these scenarios children learn to develop their imagination and empathy as well as how to use their body language and eye contact to help engage their audience. |
