What Does a Kids Unlimited Coach Do?
Our Coaches deliver engaging programs to primary school students from Foundation to Year 6.
You'll use our prepared lesson plans and resources to lead fun, interactive and hands-on sessions.
Depending on your subject, you might:
- Lead science experiments
- Build and program robots
- Teach coding through games and challenges
- Coach chess strategy and gameplay
- Guide creative art and design projects
- Develop soccer skills
- Facilitate drama and performance activities
- Teach dance and movement
- Explore hands-on electronics
While every subject is different, the goal is always the same:
Help children learn, participate, have fun and grow in confidence.
What Will I Be Doing?
As a Coach, you'll:
- Deliver engaging classes using Kids Unlimited lesson plans
- Prepare for sessions by reviewing the lesson plan and resources
- Set up and pack up equipment
- Encourage participation and positive behaviour
- Create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable learning environment
- Build positive relationships with students
- Communicate professionally with school staff and the Kids Unlimited team
- Complete attendance and session requirements
- Travel between schools within your local area where required

You don't need to be a qualified teacher to become a Kids Unlimited Coach.
We're looking for people who are:

What You'll Need
Requirements vary depending on the role, location and subject, but generally you'll need:
- A current Employee Working with Children Check or relevant state equivalent
- Reliable transport for applicable roles
- Availability that matches our program requirements
- Strong communication skills
- A genuine interest in working with children
- Knowledge, experience or enthusiasm in one or more of our program areas
- Additional requirements may apply to specific programs.

At Kids Unlimited, we're committed to your success. Our comprehensive support system for Coaches includes specialised training and tailored induction, empowering every member of our team to excel As a Coach at Kids Unlimited, you'll earn a base hourly rate ranging from $29 up to $37 (we follow the miscellaneous award), depending on experience, along with superannuation. Additionally, we provide compensation equivalent to a minimum of two hours of work for all our coaches, ensuring fair pay even for 45-minute lessons.
As a key member of Kids Unlimited, your purpose is to provide children with a fun, enjoyable, interactive, and educational experience.
You'll achieve this by leading coaching sessions within schools, supported by our trusted and proven subject content guides.
Our enriching programs span 8 weeks per term, allowing you to conduct sessions across multiple schools in your area. With a focus on after-school schedules, and even some morning and lunchtime shifts, flexibility is key to ensuring a balanced coaching experience. We also offer holiday program classes, so you have work year-round!

Our Story

Kids Unlimited has been inspiring lifelong learners since 1997.
Originally starting as Chess Kids, we have always had a passion for the games of chess. In 2016 we rebranded to Kids Unlimited where we have expanded into other subject areas such as LEGO Robotics, Coding, Soccer, Street Dance, Drama, Arts & Design, and much much more! To this day Chess is still our biggest subject with 130+ lessons taking place each week. In May of 2023, Kids Unlimited joined forces with TeamKids, Australia's highest quality out-of-school hours and vacation care provider, making us stronger than ever! |
